I was first elected to the Nutley Board of Commissioners in 2020 and I am hoping that I will have the honor of one of your five votes for Nutley Commissioner for the May 14, 2024 Municipal Election.
My accomplishments include reducing my department budget each year since being elected, leading the town's heralded Covid-19 response, combating mental health, combating the opioid crisis by launching a new addiction recovery resources center, which has been described as a model for other municipalities to follow, prioritizing Veterans' health and resources, empowering and celebrating women, celebrating our diversity, focusing on our pets' wellbeing, and more. John was a member of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the computer science honor society. John graduated from Georgia Tech with honors.
After college, John had a successful career in the video game industry programming and designing 4 triple A games for both the XBox360 and Nintendo Wii. However, John wanted a career where he can use his talents to help and assist others. As a result, John made the decision to go back to school and become a Lawyer and ultimately pursue local politics.
John attended Seton Hall University School of Law. At Seton Hall, John continued his academic success and received a number of awards and accolades. For instance, John was a member of the Legislative Law Journal and recipient of the Del Tufo Constitutional Law Award for the highest score in Constitutional Law.
After law school, John worked for several law firms focusing on civil litigation in the areas of constitutional law, employment law, and complex business litigation. Ultimately, John focused his practice on employment law and is a partner with the law firm of Norris McLaughlin.

Aside from my golden record, there is much work that still needs to be accomplished. There are a number of ongoing projects that would benefit from a seasoned commissioner, such as myself, being re-elected to the board, such as the ongoing development at the former Hoffman LaRoche site, the development of the Ciccolini property, and Diamond Springs Property.
An issue that many are concerned about is the overcrowding of our schools. Throughout my tenure as commissioner, I have been vigilant ensuring that any new development will have no or minimal impact on the schools. I, along with my fellow commissioners, have been proactive in working with the BOE to reduce overcrowding as well as costs by sharing costs, when possible, through the use shared service agreements, such as use of the town physician.
See My Golden Record for my Accomplishments as Commissioner and more in depth plans for continuing our success in the future.
